1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work correctly, remember your preferences, and provide information to website owners about how their site is being used.

BidLens also uses browser local storage in the Chrome extension, which works similarly to cookies but is stored within the extension itself rather than your browser's cookie store. This policy covers both.

2. How BidLens Uses Cookies

We use cookies and local storage for three purposes:

We do not use cookies for advertising. We do not track you across other websites. We do not sell cookie data to any third party.

3. Cookies We Use

Essential cookies — required for BidLens to function and cannot be disabled Analytics cookies — help us understand how BidLens is used (you can opt out) Payment cookies — used during the Stripe checkout flow only Chrome extension local storage — stored within the BidLens extension only

4. How to Manage or Disable Cookies

Essential cookies cannot be disabled as they are required for BidLens to function. You can manage all other cookies using the following methods:

Browser settings

All major browsers allow you to view, manage, and delete cookies:

Google Analytics opt-out

You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your visit by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Clearing extension local storage

To clear data stored by the BidLens Chrome extension: right-click the BidLens extension icon > Manage extension > Clear storage. Note this will delete your local bid history.

5. Third-Party Cookie Policies

Cookies set by Google Analytics and Stripe are governed by their own privacy and cookie policies:

We have no control over third-party cookies once they are set. Please refer to each provider's policy for full details.

6. Your Consent

When you first visit bidlens.co.uk, you will be shown a cookie banner asking for your consent to analytics cookies. Essential and payment cookies do not require consent as they are necessary for the service to function.

You can withdraw your consent to analytics cookies at any time by adjusting your browser settings or using the Google Analytics opt-out tool described above.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we add new cookies or change how we use existing ones, we will update this page and the effective date above. Continued use of BidLens after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
